Terms and Conditions


1.General Information
Please read these terms carefully as they outline your agreement with The Loft Job ("the Company"). If you have any questions, please contact us at the provided address or telephone number.


2.Scope of Work
The Company will install loft boarding, ladders, hatches, insulation, mains lights, and other electrical works as outlined in your quotation. By accepting the quotation, you agree to the terms within this document. The Company will complete the specified work per the agreed specifications and conditions.


3.Installation Scheduling
•The Company will make reasonable efforts to meet your preferred installation date, which will be agreed in advance of any work commencing.
•If unforeseen circumstances arise beyond the control of either party, a new date will be agreed upon without liability or cancellation.
•No party will be liable for delays caused by events outside their reasonable control.


4.Deposit and Payment Terms
•A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your installation date.
•The Company will only hold any agreed dates for 24hrs. On receipt of the deposit payment The Company will confirm the agreed date is secured.
•The balance is due upon completion of the work.
•Payment methods: BACS (preferred) or credit card.
•Late payments after 14 days from date of invoice will incur a £25 fee.


5.Work Details and Additional Costs
•Additional work or variations requested by you will incur extra charges.
•Delays caused by your actions may result in additional costs, with prior written notice.
•All measurements for any new hatches installed are specified in the quote.


6.Permissions
If you are a tenant or housing association member, it is your responsibility to secure the landlord's permission for the work. The Company assumes permission is granted and accepts no liability for disputes arising from its absence.


7.Access Requirements
•You are responsible for providing  access to your property for the commencement and completion of the installation.
•The Company may require access for an electrician prior to or after boarding work. This will be confirmed once your booking is made.


8.Hazardous Materials
•The quoted price excludes removal of hazardous materials, such as asbestos. If asbestos is discovered, work will pause until the site is made safe and professionally cleared out. Work can only recommence once a valid removal certificate or document has been produced.
•The Company will not remove asbestos, but can advise you on disposal procedures.
•The Company is not liable for any costs relating to the removal of the hazardous material.


9.Warranty and Weight Limitations
•All loft work (parts and labour) is guaranteed for 5 years.
•Overloading the loft boarding (exceeding 25kg per square metre) voids the warranty.
•Loft ladders supplied and fitted by the Company are covered in the guarantee.
•Weight loads are specified on all quotes and invoices.


10.Liability for Damage
•The Company will take reasonable care but is not responsible for incidental damage to decorations or fittings during installation.
•Ceiling redecorations due to loft hatch installation are your responsibility unless included in the quote.
•The Company is not liable for damage to items left in the loft. Please clear the loft of belongings before installation. Failure to do so may delay the commencement of works.


11.Insurance
All employees and agents of the Company are insured against negligence-related loss or injury.


12.Force Majeure
The Company is not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond its control, including adverse weather, fire, accidents, or utility failures.


13.Limitation of Liability
The Company accepts liability for foreseeable loss or damage caused by its breach of this agreement, extended to 24 months from completion of work.


14.Use of Contractors
The Company may employ qualified and approved contractors to complete your installation to the highest standards.


15.Charges
•Parking permits: Customers must provide parking permits or arrange van registration with local authorities to avoid delays.
•Skip hire permits: Customers must provide skip hire permits should a skip be required to be located on a public road.


16.Callbacks
If you report an issue related to any works carried out by The Company, they will return to resolve it at no cost. If the issue is unrelated, charges will apply.


17.Quotations
All quotations are free and without obligation and are open for acceptance for 14 days unless otherwise specified.


18.Retention of Title
Ownership of goods remains with the Company until full payment is received.


19.Legal Action for Non-Payment
Failure to pay invoices will result in legal action governed by English Law.


20.Warranty Conditions
Free 5-year workmanship warranty excludes:
•Improper use, maintenance, or unauthorized modifications.
•Accidental or intentional damage, or third-party interference.


21.Cancellation Rights
•You may cancel within 14 days of contract acceptance, provided work or procurement of specified items has not begun .
•Cancellation after 14 days may be subject additional costs. This is at the discretion of the company.
